Bilaspur police have seized 255 opium plants grown by a person in a poppy field in Palog village as part of an operation against clandestine opium cultivation in the district.

The police have registered a case against the accused and have begun an investigation. According to reports, a team from the Namhol police station conducted a raid near the house of Ram Lal, a resident of Palog, based on secret information.



Where Ram Lal had planted 255 opium plants among his garlic crop in his fields. The police team has recovered all these plants. It is reported that the place where the opium plants were cultivated is his own property.

It is noteworthy that the police had also recovered about 409 opium plants under the Kharasi police station a few days ago.

So far, the police have caught two such cases in which a large number of opium plants have been seized. The police have expressed the possibility of more people in this area growing opium plants. For this, police officials have stated that the campaign will continue.

Meanwhile, DSP Madan Dheeman, the district headquarters and police spokesperson, confirmed the matter and said that in Palog village, a person had cultivated 255 opium plants in a poppy crop. Based on a tip-off, the police team has recovered these plants.

The police have registered a case against the accused Ram Lal under the NDPS Act and have started the investigation. The accused has also been arrested.
