Nearest Railhead:
Kalka (90 km), Shimla. Shimla is connected by a narrow gauge railway line
with Kalka (90 kms) which in turn is connected with the major cities in India.

Airport
The airport is at Jubbarhatti, 23km away , from the main city with regular
flights to Delhi. Chandigarh airport, 120 km away on the plains, has flights
at more regular intervals. The flights to Shimla may be called off, during
the winter months of December, January and February, so you will need to check
them up in advance.
Shimla is connected by a narrow guage railway line with Kalka (90 kms), which
in turn is connected with the major cities in India.
By road, Chandigarh is 117 km Manali is 280km,chali is 45km and Delhi is at
a distance of 370km. From Delhi, the driving time is about eight hours from
Delhi, Manali and Chandigarh, luxry coaches and taxis ply to shimla.

large establishments, but it is still wise to carry Indian currency. Credit

Climate
the climate of Shimla varies from a maximum of 10-11 degrees in winter to
a maximum of 25-26 degrees in summers. Shimla never allows the gods to raise
the temperature above that limit and the gods always oblige. Winters are cold
due to the chilly winds from the upper Himalayas. Around Christmas, Shimla
experiences snowfall.
Clothing
Casual attire is acceptable for business meetings but it is best to dress
formally. The appropriate attire for men is a long-sleeved shirt with tie
and jacket, or just a tie when it gets too hot. Long skirts are required of
women, but they may try wearing a sari or salwar kameez - baggy pants and
a dress-like top.
In Shimla Required: In winter, the temperture can drop below freezing point
when heavy wollens are required. Summer temperture are mild and light wollens/cottons
are recommended.
